Feeding The Soul At The Body’s Expense

Food, glorious food! It’s such a personal thing. The food we love and put into our bodies is often based on what we grew up with. Soul food is not just a Southern thing. Every section of the county and every culture has its own soul food. It is what reminds us of growing up, of mom and wonderful childhood memories. Usually, soul food is not as good for the body as it is for the soul! This varies by culture.

However, here, where the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) includes not only your beloved soul food but a daily menu of fast-food meals, snacks and other processed foods, often washed down with sodas, sugary sweet teas or a nice cold beer or glass of wine, the real needs of the body are being sacrificed to satisfy the soul.

A S.A.D. State Of Affairs

The Standard American Diet has given rise to epidemic suffering caused by The Yeast Syndrome which most doctors rarely, if ever, acknowledge. The general public is left in the dark, clueless about this cause of so much illness, pain and suffering.

As a nation, we are becoming more aware of the role diet plays in our health. Vegetarianism, veganism, fasting and intermittent fasting, Paleo and Keto diet trends are gaining attention among many segments of the population. Yet there are those who would rather die than give up their macaroni and cheese, their burgers and fries, fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, milkshakes and ice cream sundaes. These people may say this and believe it, but when push comes to shove and they’ve looked for solutions to their growing aches and pains without relief, some people actually begin to change their minds and what they put in their mouths.

You Are What You Eat

Whether you consider it soul food or not, what you consume might make your soul feel good for a few minutes, but you’re also feeding heart issues, obesity, inability to lose weight, hair loss, bloating, swollen legs and feet, intestinal issues, ad infinitum, arthritic joints. You are without question feeding the yeast that is alive and growing throughout your body. High stress also contributes to the overgrowth of yeast in the body. When you don’t feel well, your body is stressed. We live in a stressful world during extremely stressful times. Many people eat more when they feel stressed. Sadly, stress encourages yeast to grow even better – and you suffer more! Some people eat less, but the majority turn to food to quell their anxiety. I’m sure you’ve heard people talk about packing on the pandemic pounds over the past couple of years.

Get A Taste Of How Good It Feels To Feel Good Again

The body is miraculous. Life is miraculous. And as miraculous as the human body is, it is not designed to be stuffed day in and day out, year after year, decade after decade with things that do not contribute nutritional value. Eventually, the real Soul will try to take over and guide you to health. That’s usually how people find their way to me. By the time they get to me, my patients are willing to do just about anything, including taking a break from the foods they love long enough to get a taste of how good it feels to feel good again! Are you ready to get a taste of that? Give us a call when you are.
